Melanzane alla Paesana - Seasoned Eggplants in Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Fratelli Burgio

The Burgio brothers are a Sicilian family whose deli was born in 1978 in the countryside of Solarino and today sits inside the Ortigia market in Siracusa, where the stalls look out to the sea. They keep alive the flavours of the island, working the old way and without preservatives.

Country style aubergines in extra virgin olive oil, with celery, mint, garlic and a hint of chilli. A ready antipasto, lovely on bread or alongside cheese and cold cuts.

Ingredients: eggplants (75%), extra virgin olive oil (10%), celery (6%), mint (5%), vinegar (2%), garlic (1%), red hot chili peppers (1%)
