Made in Sicily by Fratelli Burgio, whose family deli started in Solarino in 1978 and today sits in the Ortigia market in Siracusa. A little white vinegar goes in too, and no preservatives.

the best artichoke hearts I have ever eaten

These are so fortifying, satisfying, exquisite; I am simply addicted to them. In the winter I eat one bit of these grilled artichokes with my vitamin D tablet for better absorption (D being a fat-soluble vitamin).
